COMMENTS:
I'm fond of Conklin, what toward the end was the smallest of the Big
Five American pen makers. The late 1920s Enduras were high quality
things, pens that had no trouble competing on beauty and engineering
with the other big manufacturer's products. Classic flat-top
styling. Hefty cap-band. Spring clip. Sweet colors. This one is
Sapphire (mottled blue) in the stubby model, which was short but
standard-diameter, not to be confused with slender ladies' pens. 4.5
inches long, it posts to 5.75" or 15cm. This one is a gem, with
appropriate claim to the oft misused "near mint". Perfect color
including barrel threads. Razor sharp maker's imprint. Clean
trim. This one has a verrrry fine point, which is smooth. Worthy
of any collector-grade Conklin collection, and ready to write of
course. |

COMMENTS:
"Nozac"
for no-sac. Conklin did the "transparent barrel with visible ink
level". Conklin is grouped with the other Big Five pen makers from
pendom's Golden Age, and it offered some excellent quality series. This
mid 1930s Nozac offered alternating longitudinal lines of pearlescent
gray and of transparent celluloid (even the cap!). The classic word
gague imprint is sharp. Nib is a sweet flexible thing. Shooting
pen for this update I did find a flaw. The cap-band has either deep
scratch or slight separation (factory defect? No plastic damage nearby)
as vertical line that can be seen below the clip. Cap-band is
snug and unworn.j Weird. Big pencil included. I knocked off $80 for the
cap-band thing. Kills me a bit this sells for less than a bunch of
relatively common Sheaffer Snorkels from 20 years later, but the market
is what the market is. Note that the pencil is from the more upscale
Deluxe line (fatter cap-band), but matches the pen well enough. |

very pretty squat but standard diameter Conklin likely early 1920s,
with threaded cap (not earlier slip cap) and with pink gold-filled trim

red-gold patina. Light even wear but still with well preserved
chasing and imprints. Neat little pen with nice point |

Comments:
Model 26. Dates to 1923 per collector Dave Glass, though I might have
expected a bit later. Live and learn. I couldn't turn down a stickered
clean pen from this
era when it popped up in collection offered to me. The rubber has light
oxidation, but I am not going to have it recolored. DIpping showed no
ink. The nib has original iridescent patina I will not polish away. It
seems to put down good line with water and has hefty flex (better than
many of the Watermans pulling crazy prices lately). You might go
another twenty years trying to find one mint stickered. The
barrel band/sticker is loose so do keep an eye on it (it will slide
from the barrel). My warranty covers this one. If you decide to
make it a user and it needs a nib adjustment, I'll subsidize within the
first year. The monster nib is worth it. Still, this one is
appopriate at least as much for a top grade Conklin collection, given
condition and model. |

COMMENTS: LConklin,
part of the Big Five during American Pendom's Golden Age, had nothing
for which to apologize during the late 1920s. It's flat-top pens were
on par with the quality from those by the evil competition, and the
pens were pretty. People are most familar with the Endura line from
that era, standard and fat pens that featured Conklin's classic
annular/incised lines. Conklin did offer sub-Endura flat-tops, often in
pastel colors, as well as in some exotic Celluloids such as "Halloween"
and "Zebra". Most of the monotone pastel non Enduras are found today
in pale green and pale blue. This one is orange, same color as the high
line Endura, but of course lacking the incised lines onc cap and
barrel. I've seen fewer in orange than in the other non-Endura colors.
I find the nib interesting, as offhand I don't recall the bold "SS"
marking on the Conklin nib. Research for another day. This one is very clean with brassing-free gold-filled trim, razor sharp manufacturer's imprint and clean plastic. It is a great writer, putting down a smooth line between fine and medium. This is a standard diameter pen, of equal girth to the Endura version |

COMMENTS: Gorgeous color, relatively uncommon Symmetrik. Standard size but chunky relative to competitors (fatter than Sheaffer Balance Standard for example). Nice medium-point nib with bit of stub quality (thinner cross-strokes) allowing for expressive writing. Nib is slightly later NOZAC era but still a large solid point. Trim has bit of brassing at top and bottom of clip and on part of lower cap ring as can be seen in photo. Color is superb. As is well known, pale pearlescent coors (green is notorious) tend to discolor severely. This one has grand color. Cap closes a bit off-angle but threads smoothly to close firmly. Priced down for brassing and cap angle. |

400 had classic Pelikan lines (still seen today) and was issued in the
1950s before yielding to the more streamlined 400NN. Plain 400 is
less common, and black is less common than green and tortoise.
The blind cap marks the nib an Oblique Fine, and I can barely see (but
can feel with writing) the oblique element not usually seen with fine
points. Very nice writer allowing right handed folk a bit of natural
rotation of point on paper. Smooth flexy writer. |

Conway offered some of England's best pens, many featuring particularly
pretty plastic. The model 27 was one of the larger pens offered. Conway
offered good quality, though-- having handled a bunch over the
years-- i find the trim plating tends to be weaker than that
found with most American pens. This one is quite nice. Great color.
Clean plastic. Excellent trim plating. Mode 27 features a big cap-band,
which looks nice on the gray pen. The maker's imprrint is weak
just at the words "Conway Stewart. Neat fine-medium nib that "sings" on
paper (I see that more with Pelikans) offering moderate flex for shaded

Nice purple Conway-Stewart from England. Model 388. Conway trim tends
to be more fragile than that found on high-line USA_made pens, and this
one has some bgrassing on the clip as per the photo (rings and lever
are clean). Clean plastic and sharp imprint. I'd done the photography
and core text before realizing the nib needs bit of work. The tines
have hint of external rotation creating "v" shaped slit in cross
section. More than I can tweak. It needs to go to the nibmeister. Pen
can be reserved but is not ready for prime time yet. If you want it as
is or can do real nib work, I'd let it go without nib guarantee for

an M400 version of the M600-related M625. Why this is
"20" and not "25"? No idea. It has the
sterling/rhodium-at-both-ends thing going for it.
Apparently this was a 1 year (2004) product, predating
the M625. Deep blue barrel with
rhodium-plated-sterling makes for an elegant
cocktail. Unlike the 625, the 420 does not have
an entirely translucent barrel, but rather an ink-view
window near the threads. Nib is two-tone 18-C. |

The leather purse-case is well made and offers gentle pull to the hinge (does not just flop open). Similar shape to some I've seen marked Pelikan, though this period case is not so marked. One collector commented these might have been made for MB and for Pelikan by a company called Golden Seal. I do not know... $380 |

COMMENTS:
Big
brother to the 140, the 400NN, the more streamlined
version of the earlier-in-1950s 400, offered a bit
more "oomph" than the 140. These measure 5 1/4", 13.2
cm. The
400NN is a bread-and-butter vintage
Pelikan. The three basic colors are green,
Tortoise, and
Black in ascending rarity. Other more exotic
colors do turn up. These
often pack exotic points, allowing for high flex and
more frequently
found oblique and stub than are found with USA_made
pens during the
1950s. LEFT to RIGHT:s |

April 2015 Update:
Collectible German Fountain Pens
|
|||||
Welcome to the April 25, 2015 Vacumania website update. This one is a a little bit different, Vacumania's first (and likely only) focused offering of quality vintage and near-modern German fountain pens, about 50 of 'em. Vacumania's core focus of course is on vintage American fountain pens. But Ye Olde Proprietor from time to time stumbles across quality pens from Europe and Asia. The 50 pens in this update have accumulated during the last three or four years, often part of more broad collections purchased, sometimes as individual pens that found the website. Some choice material is present, mainly 1950s-and-later Pelikans and Montblancs. Some uncommon variants too. The pens are ready to roll, save for one or two that need nib tweaks (likely to be done at the big pen show next week). At least four MB 149s can be found in this group. I hope I won't have to change my name to Penguin. It is quite likely that Vacumania will not have another offering of this sort during the next decade. Note there are many "special" nibs in this group: Flex, Stub and Oblique. Get 'em while they're hot. Note
that the above photo does not show all pens in this
update.
The pens are found below |

Nib condition: Excellent |

COMMENTS: Conklin was a major US pen manufacturer, on
the scene long before Sheaffer and Wahl first
appeared. Many collectors consider it part of
the "Big 5" of USA pendom, though some later writers
didn't include it in the later-described "Big 4".
The streamlined (Symetrik) Endura appeared
around 1930. In fact, in my earliest days in the
hobby, I set out to collect this attractive color
(indeed, emailing a seller to ask if in fact this
really was a discolored black-and-pearl... ahhh, the
early times). I have had about 9-10 variants based on
size, shape and so forth. This one pops. Great color with no loss of the metallic essence to the brown panesl. NO brassing, not even at the high points of the clip. Sharp imprint (often lost as "Endura" and "Symetrik" tend to be faint from the get -go). Smooth very firm (manifold) nib, fully marked as Endura. I'll miss this one. |

COMMENTS: Manufactured in the mid 1990's, the Manhattan's plastic evokes Parker's 1930's-1940's Vacumatic, and the power filling system is based on Sheaffer's plunger-fill system from that same era. Not so easy to find these days. This one is in mint condition and shows no signs ever of having met ink. Three colors were made; this one is blue (a rather turquoise take on blue) |

cross strokes, flexes from Fine to Broad on downstrokes). I'd
planned to offer this as full excellent condition with $600 price tag,

COMMENTS: I was finishing my intern year and back at college reunions at Princeton when I spotted an orange and black pen in a jeweler's window on Withersppon Street, back in 1992. Wandered in. Figured it would be nice to get a pen in my colors. Had used a fountain pen occasionally before. $695? Insane. So I skipped it. Always wanted one. But in later years, as I found my way to collecting old pens, I still had a bit of desire to own one. But, these days, I'm just not so much into modern pens. And, I've had the chance to own and to photograph this one, thanks to the Gang-of-Five Pen Hoard purchased at the Ohio Pen Show (200 pens of this sort, from which my share came to about 40 pens. I'm not a serious MB collector so after two months it is time to pass this to a new owner. |

COMMENTS: Moore generally is considered a seoond tier manufacturer , though it had its share of first quality pens. Moore tended to follow the herd. This one is amongst the prettiest Moores I've handled. Candystripe plastic is known more from overseas than from the USA. This one is a hefty pen, "double jewel" with great color noting a bit of ambering by the threads. Clip and tassies have clean gold-filled metal, but the cap-bands largerly are brassed (or in this case, maybe "nickeled" as the base-metal is white and holding color well). Imprint if light but legible. Nice smooth firm wet medium point. A big "Deco" celluloid pen. I thought of hanging onto these candy stripe Moores, but I have waaay to many pens lying about already ;) |

Mabie made pens as
good as those from the Big Five. The 1920's saw
significant production of ring-top metal pens (used by
ladies whose dresses lacked pockets, and by men to
match their suits' vest pockets. Wahl, Waterman,
Sheaffer and Mabie put out a fair range of these
pens-as-jewelry. Mabie had some stunning
patterns. This one pops. I might end up keeping
it. If only it weren't for the other 4500
pens... Nib writes a nice fine-medium point at rest and does offer flex when pressure is applied, though not an extreme "wet noodle" sort. Lovely pen. |

Found in at least three sizes and with a variety of patterns, these have a small but loyal following. I have several at home, including "candy stripe" and "snakeskin" patterns. The silver/brown seem to be "each pattern different". This is the standard size pen. |

COMMENTS: Estie purse pens have come into their own and are appreciated for their charming pastel colors, high quality, reasonable price point, and readily swappable nib assemblies. Part of a large lot of Esties acquired during the last few months, this one is done in pale yellow with black end jewels. It grades at worst near mint. COMMENTS: The Icicle pattern is late Esterbrook product, probably dating to mid-late 1960's. Packing nice eye appeal, the icicles probably fall below the pastel purse pens but above the conventional marbled plastics in terms of collector cachet. This one is verrrry clean with no problems. |

COMMENTS: Not the usual Vacumania vintage fodder, this is a near-modern yet early-style Omas Milord in blue Vegetal Resin (iirc my limited Omas knowledge). Picked this one up as part of a large pen collection some months back. Pretty pen in clean shape, priced here (albeit only "near" mint and without box/papers) well below the readily available modern variant. |

PRICE: $240 |
COMMENTS: Diamond Medal was Sears's in-house brand, manufactured for it over the years by a variety of pen makers. This one likely dates to late 1920's-early 1930's, preceding the era in which Parker made pens for Sears and likely representing the work of National Pen Company in Chicago. While "woodgrain" pens tend to be of hard rubber, I get no "hard rubber smell" when friction is applied to the material. The pen might actually be of woodgrain-pattern celluloid. It is in sueprb shape with clean trim, plastic, imprint, and nib. The top of pen has a crest or coat-of-arms in attractive blue (enamel?) on gold-tone metal. Such were popular options in the day. Superb writer with wet medium point Great example of not-so-easy-to-find pen. |

COMMENTS: Moore made a very high quality hard rubber pen. The barrel-sleeved safety pen is well known and well collected, found in a range of colors, sizes and finishes. Even solid gold overlay pens can be found. This one is bit of an odd-duck. Cap and barrel essentially black with razor sharp imprints and chasing. The slide/sleeve shows wear and some oxidation. I cannot exclude replacement part, though I suppose it is possible that part was handled more than the others. The nib has met ink and is a "warranted" solid gold replacement with very nice flexibility. The seals have not been formally restored, but can be done (at some delay in shipping) by Ron Zorn before shipping for $35 extra. |

COMMENTS: Moore generally is considered a seoond tier manufacturer , though it had its share of first quality pens. Moore tended to follow the herd. This one is amongst the prettiest Moores I've handled. Candystripe plastic is known more from overseas than from the USA. The Burgundy color is superb. Imprint sharp. Trim very clean. An outrageous wee writer for someone seeking the vintage flex feel in a pen. |

COMMENTS: Mid 1920's Mabie, demonstrating Mabie's penchant for off-the-beaten-path metal patterns. A mix of columns of squiggly lines, columns of straight lines, and splotches comprising many shorter lines, this one is just pretty. Has a neat flexy nib, too. |

COMMENTS: Aikin-Lambert was bought by Waterman during the 1920's, resulting in Waterman-esque Aikins, often including flat-top pens in unusual colors (for Waterman) or seemingly with left-over Waterman material (eg. ripple). I've owned two or three of these relatively hefty Aikins in Jade celluloid. The bandless cap with flat-top styling adds to the charm. The color on this one is well better than average though not perfect. The overall even color is shade or so away from ideal, with a bit of darkening by the cap. The nib is... outstanding. Smooth with good inkflow-it can flex from fine to double broad (maybe more). A grand writer. Do treat it gently when you get it. Noodles can... snap... if overworked. |

COMMENTS: Mabie-todd is another high quality make that during the golden age was not quite as big as the Big-5. With strong branches in the USA and in England, many verrrrry pretty Mabies lurk out there. This one is a large clip pen, well less common than the little ring-tops. COMMENTS: Neat Conklin. Suspect this one is in the same range as the Halloween and Zebra. Targetted below the Endura range, more wild plastics appear, much to our happiness today. This plastic shares a bit with Wahl's Green/Gold and with a similar color on Waterman 92, but has a much larger amount of metallic-tone plastic than either of those two pens. Recognizing i've not seen every Conklin out there, i note this is the only Conklin i've ever seen in this plastic. Couple specks of brassing on clip edge and at bottom edge of cap-band. |

This one is the big boy. Plastic is very clean. No Brassing. Sharp imprint. A lovely big conklin. COMMENTS: Crisp pearl/black color, probably in top decile. Razor sharp imprints. No brassing. Weird "reversed" personalization (i'm sure some art term is out there for this. I dunno what it is). Instead of stamping or engraving "W.S.H". the stencil (of sorts) around the initials was carved out leaving the letters raised relative to the cutting, at the level of the rest of the barrel. The letters then were stained black. First time i've seen this done to a celluloid pen. Only flaw with pen is a bit of play to the lever which seems to want to stay a mm or so elevated. I believe the wire lock is bit misaligned with the lever's catch, causing this. The nib is killer. Medium to triple broad high flex. |

Only pen i've ever seen in this plastic, one not shown in the recent Mabie book. Very clean plastic. Sharp imprint. The clip is white metal, which i'm guessing indicates loss of prior gold wash. COMMENTS: Known best for some glorious overlay eyedropper-fill pens from twenty years earlier, Aikin Lambert eventually came under the ownership of LE Waterman and took on a rather Waterman-ish look, though often featuring smaller nibs than similar Waterman-branded pens. This one is rather clean. No clip brassing. The plastic has an area of translucency opposite the clip, but the color overall is sound. Most jade has discolored well more than this. Big pen. |

About the most significant Conklin offered yet at
Vacumania.com. An oversized Herringbone in black

is a variant not showing any word guage numbers on
side. Working order. Neat nib. A pen not
easy to find at all, never mind in clean shape. |

COMMENTS: A significant pen for collectors of Conklin. An early Endura Symetrik demonstrator with clear barrel. Pen is sound but worn. A personal name is neatly stamped in barrel. The cap has on gouge near the crescent (can see in pic). Note, i cleaned up some of the dust and polish powder showing in the pic by the clip. True Demos generally were not intended for sale. Pen will need the nozac filler restored if he wishes to fill it. |

of the Black/Bronze color (very 3-D look), i have a
pile of Enduras of various models lying about.
This set is about as good as it gets. No
brassing. Razor imprints. Clean plastic. I have
not had the painted circumferential lines touched up
(i prefer the natural aged look), but if that matters
i can ask one of my favorite restorers to repaint the
lines before shipping. A set that makes me say,

With strong branches in the USA and in England, many verrrrry pretty Mabies lurk out there. This one is a large stock broker's pencil using huge grease pencil refill. Lovely engine turned pattern. COMMENTS:
This black Lox Top Chilton just pops. Featuring
the appropriately notched red-edged gripping section,
it has intact the red locking mechanism under the clip
(cannot see in pic head on). One clipped to shirt
pocket, the red lock is compressed, locking the pen
and preventing the cap from unscrewing. Neat.
The diffused-lighting photo above woefully
minimizes the razor sharp, near mint barrel imprint. A
somewhat scarce variant from a manufacturer from whom
all pens today are tough to find. The fine flex
nib does not hurt :-) |

Part of a large lot of Esties acquired during the last few months, this one shows little sign of regular use, but there is a slight depression in the barrel near front end of pen. COMMENTS: An interesting specimen. By the time Conklin produced the rounded Endura Symmetrik high line pens, the company was using plastic, not rubber, for the vast majority of its product. This pen, possessing that "late" shape, looks like black chased HR, with a chasing pattern of clusters-of-lines, but appears to be made of celluloid. Most unusual- at least to me. I'm no Conklin maven, but amongst the 5000 vintage pens i've photographed, i've not seen one of these. I would speculate that this represents a student line pen. Still, it is a very solidly constructed pen in clean shape; it is a funky Conklin. |

COMMENTS: For decades, the Moore Pen Company produced many high quality models. This example is in great shape. Color is sharp, with minimal oxidation. Imprints are deep including "2.50" (price?) and "1" near the bottom. The nib emerges smoothly from the pen. Note that the pen has not been restored regarding seals, and i have not tested this one for function. The nib is a sweet, with moderate flex and smooth tipping. A very nifty Moore, lacking the capcracks that plague so many bandless HR pens. This one is unrestored and presumably needs new seals. |

COMMENTS: Leboeuf Fountain Pens
are amongst the most cherished celluloid pens to those
who know. With the largest (#8 nib) pens reaching
$2000-3000 in better colors, they outprice pens by the
Big-4. This is a second largest size pen in a
black/bronze celluloid that is similar, though perhaps
more rich appearing, than that found on Conklin, Moore
and others. A gem of a flex nib (Leboeuf, not Warranted
as often is found) does not hurt. The major weakness is
nearly gone imprint, with just "unbreakable" still
visible from the imprint on this lever filling pen. A
couple tiny marks can be found on the plastic. No
cracks, no significant brassing. Beautiful eye appeal. This is the pen that at the
Washington Pen Show had Al M spewing epithets and
threatening fisticuffs (if you can believe it) because
i'd gotten to the pen before he had. Weird
world. Well, it has been photographed for my digital pen

COMMENTS: A fairly substantial Crocker with four separate imprints, and a "Crocker Boston" #4 nib. The nib is smooth and flexy but the iridium is light. The pen features what many call a "hatchet" filler, but this is not the classic Hatchet as sween with Holland pens. It is more of a long end-lever which is worked by unscrewing the blind-cap. The pen is free of cracks or dings. Pen dates probably to late 19-teens. Crocker and Chilton pens have a nice following. I've imaged probably 150 of them. |

Point: Fine flex nib | Imprint: exc | Size: 5.5" | PRICE: $175 |
COMMENTS: A fairly substantial Crocker with four separate imprints, and a "Crocker Boston" #4 nib. The nib is smooth and flexy but the iridium is light. The pen features what many call a "hatchet" filler, but this is not the classic Hatchet as sween with Holland pens. It is more of a long end-lever which is worked by unscrewing the blind-cap. The pen is free of cracks or dings. Pen dates probably to late 19-teens. Crocker and Chilton pens have a nice following. I've imaged probably 150 of them. |

COMMENTS: A beautiful dual pen/pencil of the sort i just do not collect. Pushing the ring forces the $4 ultra-flex Aikin-Lambert nib from the front of the pen. Twisting the back of the pen extends the pencil. The nib is clean. The pencil??? I am uncertain. The front of the pencil holder has a separation on either side. Whether this is correct or represents a split in the metal, i cannot say. The barrel of the pen is not marked by a maker's name. Both the nib and the worn and tattered box carry Aikin markings. A pretty litttle thing. |

COMMENTS: Gold Bond pens often are high quality pens that can run head to head with the Big-4. This set is a prime example Ths one is a clean OS pen with a Gold Bond #8 gold nib. The pen writes a semi-flex medium line and is a quite nice writer. |

COMMENTS: Valentine pens are from England; the company spent some time owned by Parker. Certainly, the look of this one is Parker-esque. A nice writer, it is sports one of the most lovely plastics out there, a reticulated candy-stripe pattern that crops up on a several English and American makes. The Clip is snug as it should be, but the washer (by the top black endpiece) is a smidge wide. Whether the plastic shrank a bit or the clip was harvested from a slightly larger pen, i will leave open to the crowd. A classic vintage item. |

Point: Firm Medium point | Imprint: Exc | Size: OS pen. 5 1/2" + | PRICE: $195 |
COMMENTS: Diamond Medal produced a wide range of pens, some being of high quality pens designed to run head to head with the Big-4. Ths one is a clean OS pen with a proper large nib. The pen writes a smooth fine line and is a quite nice writer. NOTE: A Good thing. DM was noted for offering emblems and coats-of-arms emblazoned on the top of the cap. This one has a gem of one in what looks like Goldfilled metal with enamel. A charming addition and one which, unlike names engraved in barrel, does not detract from value of pen and indeed might enhance it a bit. |

COMMENTS: A first qualtiy pen by a regional manufacturer. Chilton pens are highly collectable. This one is solid and was restored this summer. Couple light marks to clip and to the filler knob keep it away from lofty "excellent". Nice eye appeal. A charming little pen. $175 |
green pen is a no namer | checkerboard pen is by Congress. | CLICK FOR LARGER PIC | |
COMMENTS: The larger no-name pen at top is interestingn in that it uses a lovely green-with-black-veined celluloid best known for appearing in the Conklin Endura Symmetric. Decent color with clean trim on the cap, note the lever is all brassed. The bottom pen is by Congress in an outrageous checkerboard pink/black plastic. This one illustrates one of the principles brought out in Erano's "Fountain Pens Past and Present. 2nd Ed" in that what appears to be a quadruple cap-band in fact is a single capband with painted black lines to simulate divisions. This was done by lower price point pen manufacturers to mimic the truly split capbands of better makes. Both pens will need re-sac but could make fun projects for someone dabbling at his own restorations. Or, i'll be happy to refer you to pen repairmen. |

Point: Fine proper #4 Grieshaber. Fine-med with some nice flex | Imprint: sharp | Size: Standard- about 5.25" | PRICE: $150 |
COMMENTS:
Grieshaber was a high quality, regional manufacturer.
This pen has a barrel stamp which adds a bit of charm,
but which needs to be noted. Apparently Antonio
received this pen, presumably for his 75th birthday.
He would be 150 years old today.

Point: Broad to Double Broad | Imprint: Lo-name | Size: | PRICE: $70 |
COMMENTS: Not a maki-E, not a No-Nami (no name), but a true Lo-Nami, Majestic pens generally were low priced, lo quality items. This one is a bit of the exception. The Jade Celluloid retains better color than most hi-name pens. The goldfill trim is free of brassing. Cap threads work fine. Note there is a bit of barrel swell just around the center of the lever . Nib is amazing.. A warranted gold nib (lo name pens typically did not have their own name on nib) which writes a wet broad to double broad. This pen is a bit pricier than a typical restored Majestic, but it is a NICE pen and would make a good intro to 1930's vintage pens in working shape, with great color and with funky nib. |

COMMENTS: The Pelikan 100-N series
represented Pelikan's 2nd major pen series, following
the original 100 pens. Available in a plethora of
colors, the 100-N is amongst the most collectable of
European pens. The gray celluloid (sometime called
gray-green to differentiate from gray with black veins)
is less common than the standard green. The fluted
cap-band and milled cap-band both are more uncommon than
the typical smooth clip and smooth band,
respectively.
This one is in exceptional shape, with crisp trim, crisp color, crisp barrel clarity, and no defects to the plastic. |
