| VACUMANIA.COM
is pleased to present this most funky Sheaffer desk set for your consideration.
The tale of how these came to our possession illustrates the
value of letting all one's friends know that he collects pens.
Some time back, Vacumania received a call from an old school friend, Eric. "Dave!" said he, "A friend of mine has some old fountain pen desk sets. Do you want desk sets? " Well.... perhaps. Eric continued, "These
are Sheaffer fountain pen desk sets from the 1960's, found in the
basement of an old jewelry shop. Never sold. Never used. The labels say
'Sheaffer Imperial'. "

1960's
Sheaffer Imperial Fountain Pens are good pens. We were interested but not
yet sold.
Then, Eric added, "Did I mention these all have 2 pound Lady Justice figurines to go with the set?" We were intrigued. Eric arranged to send one of the sets for inspection. We were floored. With outer box, protective sleeve, inner glossy Sheaffer box, multiple paper wrappings, labels, paperwork and protective tubes, the fountain pen sets were perfect. Note: Boxing does show some waterstaining. Such is life after 40 years in the basement The cast Lady Justice figurines showed intricate detail and were quite heavy. The fountain pens were pristine and filled well when tested with water. The base was of polished stone (onyx?) The sets were offered for purchase en masse. So... VACUMANIA bought them all.

Some dust on the feed, but no ink :-) |
| You
will note in the pic above, that the Sheaffer Imperial fountain
pen is the premier pen available with this set. Jet Black, it is
a touchdown filler (one stroke). These are mint and unrestored, though
most appear to fill and indeed have supple and fresh-seeming sacs. Should
you wish, we can arrange formal restoration of the pen with new sac for
$20 extra and with brief delay in shipping. Again, all tested so
far fill just fine as is. The pens have never been inked and have original
chalkmarks.
Attorney's desk sets are not common in vintage pendom. This one by far is the nicest i've seen. We photographed this set for Paul Erano's "Fountain Pens: Past and Preent. 2nd edition"; you can see the set in that book. Again, the pen sets are perfect, mint and NOS in multiple layers of boxing. The wrappings in some cases do have water stains, but nothing that affects the appearance of the assembled set. As always, please email isaacson@frontiernet.net to order to to inquire. Price is $260 + shipping. The pens do fill well, but if a brand new sac is desired, this can be installed for $20 extra. Insurance or non-USA shipping will run a bit more, of course. I accept Paypal, Cash, Checks, MO. P
